RE: Hollis Town Hall Office Hours

Good morning, Dick:

As I depart, I just want to say that I think that any change in hours should be something that works for the employees. They all work hard to do what is "their independent jobs". It was a shame yesterday that residents couldn't get their dogs licensed because the deputy no longer covers the clerk's position role. I in no way see how this gives her more power. Just allows her to do the job that she has been trained to do.

Good luck with cross training individuals and if you keep the current hours establishing a policy that would allow all employees to be cross trained to be able to provide services to any resident.

Thanks

Mary

Good afternoon -

I am sure by now you have heard the rumblings about changes in Town Hall hours, days, etc. Right now, it is a topic of conversation - only. There are numerous opinions that have surfaced, some significant, some nominal, and some a combination of both.

The topic surfaced because of my thoughts regarding those who need Town Hall service, but, work out of Town (actually comments from others regarding this), and concerning safety of employees - especially toward winter when it is dark before 4pm.

A couple of factors everyone is trying to maintain are: keeping to the 29-hour work week, maintaining the Wednesday "late" day, and serving the public.our customers.

With that (and some of you have already shared your thoughts) I would like to hear what you have to say. How might we better serve the public.our customers? How can we enhance the safety of the staff?

Please share your thoughts. The Select Board has already started their thought process and shared some with me.

Thanks,

Dick
