Not always—depends on if you already have it ready to read. I just added the tribute item near the beginning of the agenda. I’ll definitely put what you say it in the minutes, though…it is lovely. Thanks Mike!

I wasn’t thinking that, more of just giving you the text of what I was gonna say.
Is what you’re suggesting the done thing?
I have no idea

Hi Mike, Would you like me to put this entire dedication on the agenda?

In Memory of Robert "Bob" Hanson
May 25, 1938 – June 18, 2026
Tonight, the Select Board pauses to remember Bob Hanson, a lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill Road and one of Hollis's most dedicated public servants.
Bob began working for the Town of Hollis in 1956 and, in 1972, succeeded his father as Road Commissioner; a position he held for 35 years, until 2006. Through countless storms and long winters, Bob kept our roads safe and passable, and his commitment to the town never really ended: he plowed his last route in January of 2025, at the age of 86, still unwilling to let a road or driveway go unplowed. His advice for driving in snow was simple and fitting: "Slow down."
Beyond his work on our roads, Bob served the Hollis Center Fire Department for over two decades, helped found the Southern Maine Tractor Club, and shared his love of antique tractors with the community through local parades and tractor pulls.
Bob represented a generation built on hard work, humility, and quiet dedication to neighbors and town alike. On behalf of the Select Board and the Town of Hollis, we extend our deepest gratitude for his decades of service and our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
He will be deeply missed. We dedicate this meeting to him.
