What a week it Was!!!

Good afternoon -

Not a lot to share this week.

Top of the list is the Election Day business - Amazing job done by Crystal in her first solo - Election. She did an absolutely amazing job and had some fantastic people on her team (I heard that some of you joined in - Thanks!) With more voters than expected the eventual outcome landed mid-day Wednesday and all looks great. Welcome Danielle - Thank you again for your interest in serving the Town.

I spent some time dealing with a potential injury claim through the MMA insurance folks. Nothing to see here. They are denying the claim.rightfully so.

Wednesday, I joined the TIF Committee as an observer. Roger and Jack were there as well as participants. There will be more on that Wednesday at the Board meeting.

After that session I ventured to the Sports Complex meeting. Planning is underway for the Community Day activities.

I crafted a price change addendum for the mowing contract for you to all sign off on Wednesday. Had discussion about a mid-year bulk trash pick-up. Exploring options and cost. These changes require the Board acceptance - The Board acts as a unit and not individually as you know.

We arranged to have the cement curbings moved from the entrance area of the Community Building to behind the Salt Shed - Done on Friday.

And then the resignation of the Tax Collector - and you all know about that and how it overflowed to Friday.

The interim Tax Collector position was filled by Faith. That will run through the election in November. We will need to post for candidates and nomination papers and do the work of election in preparation for position to be filled.

In the interim - I also am having Crystal cross-train for motor vehicle registrations (planned weeks ago but not till after the election).

Alarm codes for those departed have been discontinued.

And finally - the PTO Ordinance has a few glitches as the wind into the Earned Time Off law of Maine and the Family Medical Leave law nationally. The attorney is working those wrinkles out and will have a revision for a Special Town Meeting in a couple weeks.

And finally TGIF. Stay warm -healthy and happy.

D
