A week to remember

Good Afternoon:

As you are all aware – I was out the past 2 Fridays …I know you missed me 😊

Nothing exciting over these past couple of weeks.

I have scheduled the install of the heat pumps at the Community Building and Chip let me know yesterday that the windows are scheduled in the same general period for installation.

Met with the Comprehensive plan committee with suggestions regarding how not to spend $20,000 on SMPD review of their proposed plan. They are continuing their work.

As you have seen some of the policies I have had “on hold” you now have for review and acceptance. There are more that will be provided each month.

I have been reviewing candidates for the Deputy Tax Collector / Treasurer. We have had 15 to 20 and on review are down to 6 which I will be interviewing next week.

Spent some time on TIF fund use, scheduled time with Ron Smith and Joe Ponzetti. Also scheduled an introductory meeting with an economic developer and Joe.

The Farmers Market is still cooking. We MAY be able to do something as the harvest season peaks and ends.

Kayla Lewis and I had a nice meeting. She will be on the agenda on 8/5 to discuss mobility and transportation. I see this as a very important matter with the aging population and the lack of business.

As you may know – we experienced another dose of damage and mischief at the Sports Complex on Thursday night. Chip is cleaning up what he can and we will be closing the gate(s) and placing signs regarding trespass. This and the beautiful (sarcasm intentional) decoration of our roads by wild drivers drive home the need for some form of more visible and “local” law enforcement.

Speaking of Law enforcement…Duane is working on a location that seems to be drug infested and violating code matters. State Police are aware – but this is yet another reason to enhance the LE availability in this Town. It is a process – but – progress is actually being accomplished.

As I shared yesterday, I will be off Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Enjoy – Stay safe -
