Good morning, After the conclusion of the election of MMA's 2026-2028 Legislative Policy Committee (LPC), your LPC/Senate District was left with a vacancy. The other seat in your district is appointed by the City of Biddeford, based on Biddeford's proportionate size within the district, and is held by Jacob Pierson, City Councilor.
Your district is comprised of the following five municipalities: Arundel, Biddeford, Dayton, Hollis, Lyman.
If you or another municipal official, which includes elected and appointed positions in your municipality, are willing to fill the vacancy, please let me know and I will seek the appointment.
The first meeting of the newly elected LPC will be held this Wednesday, August 5. The other two platform setting meetings are being held on September 10 and October 1 (via Zoom, if necessary). Meeting agendas are posted on this link https://www.memun.org/Advocacy-Communications/Legislative-Policy-Committee, as well as other information on the committee.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the LPC or seeking an appointment to fill the vacancy.
Thank you for your attention and consideration.
Laura
