Sad indeed but what a life lived.
I first met Bob shortly after highschool because he let my friend (and a few years later brother-in-law) regularly use his garage in evenings to work on his Beach Ridge Thursday night thunder race car. Bob was always there mostly hanging out drinking his reheated coffee he brewed that morning (or maybe even the morning before), offering advice jokes & stories, tinkering on one of his antique tractors, or making sure the pleasant hill peddler is ready for the next parade. From this connection i continued to meet more and more of Bob's family who as we all know are famous for their volunteerism and willingness to help in our town, all down to earth real every day people. This was the family that encouraged me to start my own civic service after taking residence here, starting in the budget committee way back when you had to be voted in, through the finance committee, this and that committee, to today. So in roundabout way Bob's generosity is the reason i am on this board and quite possibly the reason i have the family i am blessed to have.
I remember finding this video a few years ago, i am glad another Hollis resident was able to capture Bob in his element: https://youtu.be/Fq9qptGf4uU?si=lEncBSJo3wKvg4ZM
